DePoly Welcomes New Team Members as We Transition from Startup to Scaleup

At DePoly, we’re entering an exciting new phase in our journey—from an ambitious startup to a growing scaleup with increasing operations, impact, and talent. As we expand our capabilities and projects, building a strong team is more critical than ever. This month, we’re thrilled to introduce three new colleagues who bring diverse expertise, energy, and passion to our mission of making plastic circularity a reality.

Yasmina Hannachi – Quality Control Technician

Yasmina joins DePoly as our new QC Technician, bringing with her nearly two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Originally from Vaud and now based in Valais, she has tested the entire product chain throughout her career and is also a certified workplace trainer (Formatrice en entreprise), having mentored numerous apprentices.

Between 2020 and 2023, Yasmina took a well-earned break to explore the world—solo travelling across Mexico and Central America, and volunteering with the Red Crescent in Tunisia and on farms in the Azores. Passionate about hiking and mountain life, she’s found her perfect home in Valais—and at DePoly, we’re lucky to have her sharp eye for quality and precision on board.

Nacere Diafi – Plant Operator

Nacere brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. With four years of training in chemical process management and improvement, he’s well-equipped to support the daily operations of our growing pilot plant.

But there’s more to Nacere than just technical know-how—he’s also a problem-solver by nature, enjoys playing chess and strategy games, and once pursued a career as a professional dancer. These days, he’s a dedicated spectator of breakdancing and popping. His curiosity, energy, and operational expertise make him a perfect fit for DePoly’s scaleup momentum.

Matteo Tufaro – Engineering Intern

Matteo joins us as an intern in the Engineering Department, where he’s already contributing fresh ideas and academic insight. He’s currently pursuing a Master’s in Chemical Engineering in the Netherlands, following a Bachelor’s from the Politecnico di Milano in Italy.

His academic interests include reactor design and process engineering—but outside of work, Matteo has spent over 12 years competing in judo, and now stays active through gym sessions and beach volleyball. His fun fact? He’s an expert sleeper—especially when stressed, it’s his way to “shut down the brain.”

Growing the DePoly Team

These new hires reflect more than just company growth—they mark the beginning of our next chapter. As DePoly moves from early-stage development toward full-scale production and commercialisation, we’re continuing to build a team that reflects our values: expertise, agility, and a shared vision for a sustainable future.

To Yasmina, Nacere, and Matteo—welcome to DePoly. We’re proud to have you with us.

DePoly’s technology recycles unsorted, dirty PET waste into virgin-grade raw materials. Those PET precursors, PTA and MEG, are used by the industry to produce new plastics without the need for fossil fuels, while diverting valuable materials from landfills and incineration.
