Internship at Engineering Department

About position

As an Intern at DePoly Engineering Department, you will support all the activities in the currently operated PET plastic recycling pilot plant and our research lab. You will also assist in designing, developing, and optimising chemical recycling systems & operations of the new upscaled DePoly demo plant.

Responsibilities you'll be handling:
  • Be part of a team of chemical engineers, working in both the laboratory and our pilot plant
  • Assist the Engineering team in the Proof-of-Concept projects that are being run in our pilot plant
  • Optimise and validate different operations of the polymerization process, with the new reactor and setup of the pilot plant
  • Improve the current process by developing the post-reaction treatment processes
We expect you to have these skills:
  • An ambitious student who is currently enrolled in Chemistry, Materials, or Chemical Engineering
  • You can think independently, you are well organised and motivated, with the ability to cultivate and develop the role through the internship
  • You are a proactive team worker with good communication skills as part of small and large teams
  • You are passionate about green processes and sustainability with a strong background in process design
  • You are fluent in English (knowledge of French is a plus)
  • You have a Swiss working permit or be eligible to work in Switzerland
  • Hands-on engineering experience is a plus
  • You have knowledge of design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, Aspen Plus, ProSim
